Week 6 of the Ethiopia Premier League saw victorious Dedebit FC and Adama Kenemacatching up with leaders Kedus Giorgis and Sidama Bunna who played a scoreless match in Yirgalem.
Dedebit defeated winless Ethio-Electric 2-0 thanks to goals by Asrat Megersa (59′) and Getaneh Kebede (64′), who brought his season tally to 6 goals in 6 matches.
Ethio-Electric is still looking for its first win of the new season.
A single goal by Sisay Toly early in the game (6′) was sufficient for host Adama to secure the much needed three points.
In other matches, Ethiopia Bunna stole an away point (1-1) from Wolaita Dicha. It was the home team who scored first through Bezabeh Meleyo (67′) and the Coffeemen had to wait until the 81st minute to tie the score thanks to Abdulkerim Mohammed.
Ethiopia Nigd Bank moved uo to 8th place following their 2-0 away win in Dire Dawa. Tadios Wolde (26′) and Fikre-Yesus Teklebirhan (70′) were the scorers.
Fasil Kenema, who defeated league leaders Kedus Giorgis two weeks ago, were forced to share a point (1-1) with Hawassa Kenema at Fasiledes Stadium. Following an own goal by Desta Yohannes (13′), Fasil tie to the score thanks to Haimanot Worku in the 26th minute.
Arba Minch is now in 7th place thanks to their 3-1 victory over the visiting Addis Ababa Kenema side. Although it was the visitors who opened the score in the 50th minute by Fekadu Alemu, the host team responded with three goals of their own. Following a 63rd minute goal by Michael Yacob, Amele Milkias scored a double (73′ & 81′).
