Ethiopian Premier League to kick off on October 29th

Addis Ababa – The 2015/16 Ethiopian Premier League will kick off on October 29th with 14 teams taking part.

Although there was some speculation earlier that Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) might increase the number of participating teams this year to 16, the idea didn’t materialize.

Dire Dawa Kenema and Hossana Kenema are the two teams that gained promotion this year.

The teams are:

Addis Ababa (6): Defending champions St. George, Mekelakeya, Ethiopian Coffee, EEPCo, Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) and Dedebit.

Southern Nations, Nationalities and People’s Region (5): Arba Minch Kenema, Hossana Kenema, Sidama Bunna, Welayta Dicha and Hawassa Kenema.

Dire Dawa (1): Dire Dawa Kenema

Amhara Region (1) : Dashen Bira 

Oromia (1): Adama Kenema
