Chinese pharmaceutical company launches hand sanitizer production in Ethiopia

Addis AbabaSansheng Pharmaceutical, a company in Eastern Industrial Park, has launched a new production line to make hand sanitizer to help prevent the spread of coronavirus in Ethiopia.

According to Abebe Abebayehu, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission (EIC), the Chinese pharmaceutical company produces 24 thousand liters of hand sanitizer per day.

Ethiopia confirmed one more case of coronavirus today, bringing the total number to 12.

The country has suspended flights to more than 30 countries and closed its land borders to prevent the spread of the virus.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has also warned that the coronavirus disease pandemic is “accelerating”, with more than 390,000 cases now confirmed.

It took 67 days from the first reported of Covid-19 to reach 100,000 cases, 11 days for the second 100,000, and just four days for the third 100,000
