CAF Champions League: Mekelle 70 Enderta Suffers Narrow Defeat

Newly crowned Ethiopian Premier League Champions, Mekelle 70 Enderta, suffered a narrow 2-1 away defeat at the hands Cano Sport of Equatorial Guinea in the first leg match of the 2019 CAF Champions League preliminary round match played today.

Amanuel Gebre-Michael scored the lone goal for the Ethiopian champions in the 81st minute. 

Mekelle, which was playing in its first African competition, will play host to Cano Sport in two-week time.

It is the hope and aspiration of the team and fans alike that Mekelle will advance to the next round with a victory at home.
