Ethiopian Athletes Dominate Lagos City Marathon
Lagos, Nigeria – Ethiopian athletes dominated the Access Bank Lagos City Marathon here with victories in both the male and female categories.
In the men’s event, Sintayehu Legese crossed the finish line in a time of 2:17:28 followed by Joshua Kipkorir (2:18:16) William Yegon (2:19:04), both from Kenya.
The women’s race was an all Ethiopian event as they clinch the top three spots. Dinke Meseret finished first in a time of 2:48.02 ahead of her compatriots Alemnesh Herpa (2:49:05) and Kebana Chala (2:49:09) who came in second and third places respectively.
