Africa Cycling Cup: Ethiopia wins Gold in women’s event; Eritrea continues its dominance

Asmara – Ethiopia wins its first gold medal at the 2018 Africa Cycling Cup thanks to Eden Bekele finishes first in the women’s Under 23 race. 

In the day’s other race, South Africa won gold medal thanks to Sanet Coetzee who snatched first place in Women’s elite race/  

Meanwhile, Eritrea continues its dominance of the overall competition by clinching 5 more medals today., including 2 golds.

In the men elite race, Eritrean cyclists Sirak Tesfom and Henok Mulubrhan finish 1-2 followed by Samule Mugisha of Rwanda in 3rd place.

In the Men’s Under 23 race, Henok Mulubrhan of Eritrea finished first followed by Samuel Mugisha of Rwanda and Redwan Salih Ebrahim of Ethiopia.

The African Cup Cycling Competition hosted by the Eritrean Cycling Federation in cooperation with the African Cycling Confederation will conclude tomorrow. Eight African National Teams namely Benin, Egypt, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Seychelles & South Africa took part in the competition.
