Hawassa – Kenya U20 side scored two late goals to steal a draw (2-2) from its Ethiopian counterpart in the first leg match of the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup African qualifier match played here today. 

The return leg match will take place in Kenya in two-week time.

Ethiopia had a comfortable 2-0 lead at half-time thanks to goals by Merekat Feleke (22′) and Alemnesh Geremew (29′) but failed to secure the lead as they conceded two late goals.

The Kenyans reduced the score from a penalty kick converted by Corazon Aquino in the 89th minute and they scored they drew level three minutes into injury time thanks to a header by Maureen Khakasi .
