Tunis – Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia) humiliated St. George of Ethiopia 4-0 in in their final CAF Champions League Group C match at Stade Olympique de Radès here today.
The Tunisians were the better side in every aspect of the game. International defender Khelil Chammam opened the score in the 29th minute to be followed by by a second goal thanks to their dangerous forward Bilel Mejri seven minutes later.
Haythem Jouini made it 3-0 six minutes from time and Ali Machani completed the rout in stoppage time as Esperance secured a comprehensive victory.
Esperance finished on top of the group with 12 points, three ahead of second-placed Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa, who were held to a 1-1 draw at home by AS Vita Club of Congo.
St George took third place with Vita Club finishing last in the group.
