Mr. Tadesse noted that his organization, which was established in 2014, is planning to introduce its new & official tourism brand – Explore Ethiopia: One Country, Many Contrasts – this year.
Talking about some of the immediate actions that the ETO is planning to take, Mr. Solomon pointed out that improving the standard of Ethiopia’s main destination sites will be the main focus of his organization this year.
About the Ethiopian Tourism Organization
The Ethiopian Tourism Organization (ETO) started operations in 2014 with a double mandate: developing the tourism product and promoting Ethiopia as a tourism destination. It is an autonomous federal government organ, together with the Tourism Transformation Council headed by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia. The activities of the ETO are guided by a Tourism Board with the participation of high-level representatives of the public and private sectors. The ETO is setting a new paradigm to build a competitive and sustainable tourism sector.
