Boston Marathon: Jeptoo sets new course record, Keflezighi is first American winner since 1983

Boston, MA– Defending champion Rita Jeptoo of Kenya won the 2014 Boston Marathon women’s race by setting a new course record of 2:18.57.
Buzunesh Deba and Mare Dibaba, both from Ethiopia, finished 2nd and 3rd respectively.
The men’s winner was Eritrean-American Meb Keflizighi, who clocked in 2: 08.37, followed by Wilson Chebet (2:08.48) and fellow compatriot Frankline Chepkwony (2:08.50).
