Getaneh Kebede optimistic of recovery

Getaneh KebedeAddis Ababa, Ethiopia - Getaneh Kebede is hoping to recover before the crucial World Cup playoff return match against Nigeria in Calabar on November 16.

The highly rated striker who missed the 1-2 loss to Nigeria in the first leg in Addis Ababa last Sunday was optimistic he will be in fine shape to help his team in the do or die encounter.

Getaneh further alluded to the fact that his doctors had given him one month to make a full recovery.

“I am glad am recuperating well from my ankle injury and my doctors have given me one month to recover fully. I felt so bad to miss out in the Nigerian game but that is life as this injuries can happen to any players. I however gave the team moral support and now i am looking forward to the return match in Calabar where i hope to have regained my fitness.”

“My recovery is going on well with physiotherapy and a lot of gym work. I believe despite the loss to Nigeria we can still make amends and get a win in Calabar as they are beatable as long as you plan well,” Getaneh told supertsport.com.

Getaneh who has been with his team mates in camp returned to South Africa to join his club Bidvest Wits.
