Through the eyes

Destination Seychelles is scheduled to be covered by the popular program “Thru the Eyes of an African” now starting its 7th season which will give coverage of the islands and their appeal as a tourism destination to African travelers. This 3-part documentary that begins on Wednesday 4th September and which can be viewed on DSTV’s Africa Magic channel 154, apart from revealing the many attributes of the destination will also feature interviews with Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister for Tourism&Culture, and other prominent members of Seychelles tourism industry.

The airing of this program falls in line with Seychelles’ policy of diversifying its tourism markets beyond those core, traditional markets in Europe, many of which are still struggling with economic recession, to embrace other potential markets, the BRICS countries and Africa as a whole, the continent that remains a natural tourism partner of the islands.

“Tourism is about being flexible and dynamic in our approach towards marketing,” says Minister Alain St.Ange, “and in this age of inter-connectivity we must be strategically aware of where our future lies. For this reason, we welcome the exposure that this popular program will give us across Africa, and we anticipate it creating increased interest in Seychelles as a tourism destination on the African continent and for tourists looking at Africa mainland and beyond.”
