Fikerte Addis to Present at Hub of Africa Fashion Week

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The renowned Ethiopian designer, Fikerte Addis, who recently partook in Africa Fashion Week in New York City, will present her work at the Hub of Africa Fashion week to be held at the brand new African Union Conference Centre, between April 24 and 27, 2012.

Designers from Ghana, Nigeria, and Somalia will also be presenting their brand lines at the event, disclosed Clairvoyant Marketing Agency, a niche marketing company and one of the organisers of the event.

Fikerte, who become an official working partner with DHL, the leading global logistics company based in Bonn, Germany, in 2011, has obtained recognition from her shows held in different African countries including Kenya, South Africa, Gambia, and Angola. In partaking in the show, according to the announcement, Fikerte will be showing new designs that portray ecologically friendly designs that represent a sustainable lifestyle

The fashion show is to be held at the newly built, ultramodern headquarters of the African Union, constructed at a cost of 200 million dollars donated from China.

“Showcasing the state of the African textile and garment industry, the event is to highlight the economic and social potential of the sector,” said Erastus Mwencha, deputy chairperson of the African Union Commission.

Organised for a second time, the show will constitute three nights in Addis Abeba and one night in Nairobi, Kenya.
