Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Dedebit Football Club secured the service of Shuaib Gabriel until June 30, 2013.
The 22 years old Ghanaian signs the one & half year loan contract after he returned back to Addis Ababa from his three months trial in Sweden leagues. The president & the coach revealed their delight to get the midfielder back to the team.
Since making a move to Dedebit FC, The defensive midfielder has been a big hit & could be mentioned as one of the best players in the league. The defensive midfielder’s owner Club International Allies & his agent agreed to loan him to Dedebit until July 2013, the end of next season.
“It was normal to sign foreigners for a season, but Gabriel’s contract extends until the end of next term, which gives us a double advantageÃ¢â‚¬Â Colonel Awel Abdurehim, President of DFC, said.
“He is now a household name of our club & already got used to the culture, climate & altitude of the country. To have a player as integrated with us as Gabriel is very important” he add.
Gebremedhin Haile, the head coach also expressed his delight to get the Ghanaian back to his team.
“The players are happy to have him in the team. They are more confident with him than without. Obviously, his presence contributes a positive psychological influence on the team ” Gebre said.
According to the loan agreement, Dedebit will pay the total sum of $14500 US fee for International Allies in three phases. The $7500 US is paid upon the player’s contact signing. The $4000 US, will be paid at the end of the current season & Dedebit will complete the rest payment by October 2012.
Gabriel, who is given the iconic no. 29 shirt of the club which commemorate the age of the founder 15 years ago, expressed his happiness to stay with Blue Army.Ã‚Â “The way everybody has taken to me here made me very happy. My teammates welcomed me with extreme pleasure which, I believe, is a very important thing. I canÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t wait to play in the league once more” he said.
Gabriel, whose EFF registration is yet to complete, will be paid $1200 US per month until his contract run out on July 2013.
