Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopia Football Federation(EFF) has announced they will host the 2015 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup slated in November.
The hosting of the annual tournament was interrupted in 2014 for the first time when it failed to take place with the secretariat failure to get a host country after the serious spread of Ebola that forced many governments to decline hosting .
EFF President Junedin Basha expressed his excitement alluding to the fact that all stakeholders should join hands to make the competition competitive.
“Yes we will be hosting the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge and we are excited as a federation to have this honours to host this auspicious occasion.Its through a lot of consultations with the government that the same was realized”

On his part CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye acknowledged the new developments saying Ethiopia had been given the mandate to host the tourney “Yes its true Ethiopia have been granted the rights to host Senior Challenge and we hope this will go on smoothly as scheduled in November”.
Ethiopia who were to host the tournament in 2014 but pulled out at the last minute because of lack of funds to meet the obligations.
