Ethiopia Taking Initiatives To Increase Tourism: Minister

Addis Ababa–Minister of Culture, Dr. Hirut Kassaw, said that Ethiopia is not benefiting enough from its potential resources of tourism.

She made the remark on day two of the 2019 edition of Africa Hotel Investment Forum (AHIF), opened in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa yesterday.

The Minister said both Ethiopia and Africa are not taking advantage of the opportunities offered by the tourism industry.

However, Dr. Hirut said, the Government of Ethiopia is now taking various initiatives to increase tourism in the country.

AHIF is the premier hotel investment conference in Africa, attracting many prominent international hotel owners, investors, financiers, management companies, and their advisers.

The Forum attracted participants from more than 52 countries.
