2018 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup: Ethiopia Takes on Kenya in Hawassa Tomorrow

Hawassa – The Ethiopian U-20 side will face its Kenyan counterpart in the first round of the 2018 FIFA U20  Women’s World Cup African qualifier here tomorrow.

The two teams will play the return leg in Kenya during the week of September 29- October 1. The winner will take on the winner between Algeria and Ghana.

Ethiopia had a bye in the Preliminary round while Kenya faced Botswana. After a 7-1 loss in the first leg match at home, Botswana withdrew from the tournament citing financial reasons and Kenya advanced.

The 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup will be the 9th edition of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup, the biennial international women’s youth football championship contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA. The tournament will be held in France, who will also host the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup a year later.
