Ethiopia Premier League: Kedus Giorgis finishes first round on top

The first half of the 2016/17 Ethiopia Premier League concluded for most teams on Sunday with defending champions Kedus Giorgis on top.

Kedus Giorgis tops the league with 29 points followed by Dedebit (27 pts), Adama Kenema (26 pts), Sidama Bunna (25 pts), Ethiopia Bunna (24 pts) and Fasil Kenema (23 pts).

Jimma Abba Bunna (13 pts), Ethiopia Nigd Bank (13 pts), Hawassa Kenema (11 pts) and Addis Ababa Kenema seat at the bottom of the league.

Getaneh Kebede of Dedebit tops the goal scoring chart with 11 goals followed by Fitsum Gebremariam of Ethio-Electric and Kedus Giorgis’ teammates Adane Girma and Salhadin Said with 7 goals each.

The first round will officially conclude on Thursday as two remaining Week 2 matches will be played. Ethiopia Nigd Bank entertains Hawassa Kenema in Addis Ababa and Fasil Kenema will play host to Wolaitta Dicha in Gondar.
