Reigning champion Feleke aims to break his course record in Vienna

Getu Feleke lowered the Vienna City Marathon course record to 2:05:41 last year, and the reigning champion is aiming to run even faster if the conditions are suitable on Sunday.

After winning the Vienna City Marathon last year, Getu Feleke promised that he would return to the Austrian capital the following year to defend his title. The Ethiopian has kept true to his word, and the reigning champion is targeting another fast time in this IAAF Gold Label Road Race on Sunday (12)

“I really like this city,” said Feleke, who lowered the course record to 2:05:41 last year. “I know the course and the organisation well and I appreciate the support of the spectators.”
