LogoDire Dawa, Ethiopia – Sudan’s U-23 team defeated its Ethiopia’s counterpart 2-1 in the All-Africa Games qualifier first leg match here today.

The Sudanese side led 2-0 at half-time and the Walias U-23 didn’t score its consolation goal until the dying minutes of the match thanks to a penalty kick awarded for handball. Dawa Hutessa converted from the spot.

On the whole, the Walias seem to be nervous and lack coordination, while the Sudanese side played a much better match.

The return leg match will take place in Sudan next week.
