Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopian Airlines received yesterday its 11th Boeing 787 Dreamliner airplane.
Speaking at the handing over of the airplane at Bole International Airport, Ethiopian Airlines CEO Tewolde Gebremariam said the airplane is one of the latest technologies and has an in-flight entertainment system with film service as well as a flatbed seat that enables passengers to sleep during their journey.
Ethiopian Airlines has been operating 787 Dreamliner during the last two years and it has been the most popular among the passengers, he stated.
The CEO said the additional 787 Dreamliner would help the airline improve its transportation service and support its effort to become the most popular fleet in the aviation industry.
He also pointed out that expansion projects which are part of Vision 2025 have been undertaken to ensure sustainable growth and significant improvement among Ethiopian Airlines customers.
Among the expansion projects, the first phase of EAL’s parking space that used to accomodate 21airplanes is completed and it now handles 51airplanes.
Bole International Airport is currently providing world-class passenger and cargo services to more than 6.5 million international and domestic passengers every year, it was learned.
