Sidama CoffeeAddis Ababa, Ethiopia – Three wins in a row, the league leaders Sidama Bunna are still in control of the league table, although The Horse Men are just two points behind. Twice former champion Hawassa Town’s miserable run appears to continue after an unexpected home defeat by visitors Ethiopia Neged Bank.

A 1-0 victory over Mekelakya, Southern Regions flagship Sidama Bunna stays on top of the league table with 20 points from 10 matches. Although it is only ten fixtures into the league season, Sidama’s record with Six wins, two draws and two defeats, the collection of players and their winning mentality could help the side stay in strong contention for the title.

In the mean time, the defending champions are gaining ground fast to claim top of the table, currently just two points behind the leaders. After a 1-0 win over visitors Dahen Birra, Saints have 18 points from nine matches. Mekelakya sits third with 16 points from ten matches followed by three draws in a row Ethiopia Bunna with 15 points. Ethiopia Neged Bank returns to a winning streak after an important 2-1 away victory over home side Hawassa Town, currently in relegation zone with just six points from ten matches. Newly appointed head coach Yohannes Sahle clinched got his first win, crushing Electric in good form, 2-0. This is the second defeat in a row for The Power House under head coach Atnafu Alemu. Adama Town settles for a goalless home draw with Muger Cement while new comers Woldya Town lost 1-0 to Arbaminch Town. The new comers are bottom of the table with five points from ten matches.

A major refurbishing is underway for the coming African Youth Athletics Championship at Addis Ababa Stadium. Ethiopian Football Federation moved the venue to Abebe Bikila stadium thus the fixtures are taking place at the artificial turf until the end of February 2015.
