African Youth Championship: South Africa eliminates Ethiopia

Nhlakanipho NtuliNhlakanipho Ntuli scored the only goal of the game as Amajita defeated Ethiopia 1-0 in their African Youth Championship second leg qualifier at the Dobsonville Stadium.
Ntuli, who plies his trade for FC Twente, comfortably slotted home a penalty, as Shakes Mashaba’s men advance as 3-0 aggregate winners, after goals from Tshepo Chaine and Siyanda Ngubo gave Amajita a 2-0 win in the first leg.
Siyanda Ngubo should have opened the scoring midway through the first half, as he did well to get past a couple defenders but failed to put the ball in the back of the net.
Amajita took the lead five minutes before the halftime break, as Nhlakanipho Ntuli converted from the penalty spot, after an Ethiopian defender was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box.
The hosts dominated proceedings throughout the 90 minutes but failed pounce on their numerous chances in the latter stages of the second half but managed to hold on for the win and seal their passage into the next round.
Amajita will now meet Cameroon or Burundi (Cameroon lead 1-0 after the first leg in the third and final round of the qualifiers for the African Youth Championship in Senegal in March 2015.
