Ethiopian Airlines to Extend Asian Reach

Ethiopian Airlines plans to expand its Asian network with the addition of three big cities, Ho Chi Minh city, Manila and Seoul Incheon from June 18, 2013. Hong Kong will also become a direct route from Addis Abeba, rather than operating via Bangkok.

Ethiopian intends to operate Ho Chi Minh, Manila and Seoul Incheon via its two existing Asian hubs in Hong Kong and Bangkok. Seoul and Manila will be an extension of the new direct Addis Abeba-Hong Kong route, whilst Ho Chi Minh will be added to the Addis Ababa-Bangkok route.

The recently added Kuala Lumpur via Bangkok route will be have more frequent flights beginning from June 24, 2013. Ho Chi Minh and Manila will be served three times weekly, whilst Seoul will have four weekly flights. All routes will be operated using the Boeing 767-300ER aircraft.

Ethiopian, a member of Star Alliance network is the leading global airline network offering more than 21,555 daily flights to 1,356 airports in 193 countries.
