Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Egypt based striker Saladin Said joined the Ethiopian national team and attended the evening training session on Tuesday after being released by his club Wadi Degla earlier than expected.

The Wadi Degla forward had been on tour with his club in Belgium and was not expected to join the team until deadline day, but after concluding the tour he agreed with his club to release him early so that he could join the preparation of the national team in Addis Ababa.

It was expected that the player would miss all of Ethiopia’s friendly matches before the tournament but his early turn up means he will be available for the next game against Tunisia on Monday.
On a similar note, the Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) is trying to arrange one more friendly for the team after the planned games against Togo and Guinea fail to come through. The EFF is reportedly trying to reinstate the cancelled match against Tanzania and is also trying to play with one middle-eastern country while the team is in Qatar for its game against Tunisia. The Ethiopian national team will fly to Doha next Saturday.
