CAF Confederation Cup: Dedebit FC to face Harras Hodoud of Egypt

Addis Ababa- Ethiopian Cup winner Dedebit FC will fly to Alexandria, Egypt tonight to face its Egyptian counterpart Harras Hodoud, in the 2nd round first leg match of the CAF Confederation Cup, reported EthioFootball.com.

Harras Al-Hadoud “Sawahel” , which had a Bye in the 1st round, is no stranger for Ethiopian sports fans as the team eliminated Banks SC of Ethiopia in last year’s competition. After a goalless draw here in Addis Ababa, the Egyptian team demolish Banks 5-0 in the return leg match.

Dedebit eliminated Young Africans “Yanga” of Tanzania in the preliminary round. Following a 4-4 goal fest draw in Dar es Salaam, Dedebit beat Yanga 2-0 in Addis.

Should Dedebit advance to the next round, the club has promised its players cash bonus ranging from the low 10,000 Birr to the high of 30,000 Birr.

The 25-member traveling team delegation includes 18 players, 2 coaches, club president, general manager, team doctor and a journalist.

Harras Al-Hadoud

The Alexandria-based club was founded in 1950 and is nicknamed “Sawahel”, which means Border Guard. It has its own stadium, which can accommodate 22,000 spectators.
