Ethiopian Premier League: EEPCO defeats Dire Dawa 5-1

Addis Ababa- EEPCO defeated Dire Dawa City 5-1 while Commercial Bank squeezed by Lideta Nyala (1-0) in the Ethiopian Premier League (EPL) here today, reported Ermias Amare on his FaceBook Page.

Seyoum Tesfaye (2), Philip Dawzi of Cameroon (2) and Sisay Denebo scored for EEPCO, while Ashenafi Girma netted Dire Dawa’s consolation goal from a penalty kick. The half-time score was 2-0.

Ashenafi’s goal came when EEPCO was leading 4-0.

Ermias noted that one of Seyoum’s goal came from an overhead (bicycle), similar to Rooney’s goal a week ago.

The victory gives EEPCO 15 points from 14 matches, the same like Trans Ethiopia.

Commercial Bank (CBE), which started the season well is now listed as 7th with 20 points.

Today’s attendance was just 125.
