Ethiopia Football: Dedebit FC defeats Sebeta City 3-2
Addis Ababa – Dedebit FC moved up three notches to 3rd place after it defeated visiting Sebeta City 3-2 here today.
Dedebit has now collected 18 points from 9 matches, and the team could bypass Ethiopian Coffee for second place should it win its next match against Dire Dawa City here.
It is not known when Dedebit FC will play its match against Adama City, which was postponed for an undisclosed date after two members of the Adama club died in a car accident at the beginning of this month in Tigray.ÂÂ
Meanwhile, EthioFootball.com has reported that Dedebit has announced that Gebre Medhin Haile, former coach of Trans Ethiopia, Ethiopian Banks SC, Ethiopian Coffee and until recently Al Sakr FC of Yemen, has joined Dedebit FC for a record 20,000 Birr a month salary.
The previous record was held by Defence Force coach Ashenafi Bekele who receives 12,000 Birr a month in salary.
Gebremedhin was a former player of St. George FC and the Ethiopian national football team.
In other news, St. George will face Sidama Coffee in Yirgalem on Saturday.
