Ethiopian Athletes to defend Eurasia Marathon’s titles

Istanbul, Turkey – Ethiopian athletes Kasim Adilo Roba and Bizunesh Urgesa will defend their titles in the men and women’s categories of the Eurasia Marathon when the 32nd edition will take place here on Sunday, October  17. 

Close to 100,000 people are expected to participate in Sunday’s Eurasia Marathon, which starts on the Asian side of Istanbul, and ends on the European side by crossing the famous Bosphorus Bridge. 

A total of 8,000 professional athletes from 84 countries have registered to run the marathon, which has total prize money of $1 million. 

The defending champion Kasim holds the men’s record (2:11:16), which he sets here in his victory in 2008.
