Ethiopia revives hope with a 1-0 away win over Madagascar
Antananarivo, Madagascar – The Walias, as the Ethiopian national team is affectionately known as, revived its hope of qualifying for the 2012 Africa Nations Cup, with a rare 1-0 away win over Madagascar in a Group B match played here today.
Former St. George (Ethiopia) and current SuperSport United(South Africa) striker Fikru Teffera Lemessa scored the lone goal (77’) of the game.
Sadly, Ethiopia will miss striker Bedaso Hora (Mugher Cement) for the next game against Nigeria as he was sent off together with national coach Onura.ÂÂ
In Conakry, Guinea defeated the match heralded Nigeria Eagles 1-0 to go on top of Group B with 6 points from 2 matches followed by Nigeria and Ethiopia with 3 points.  Madagascra
Ethiopia’s next game is against Nigeria Eagles in March 2011.
