Adama City back on top, Arba Minch scores first victory

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Adama Kenema (Adama City) climbed back to the top of the Ethiopian Premier League with an important 1-0 victory over second-placed Dedebit FC here today, reported the weekly sport newspaper, Intersport.

Adama has thus overtaken EEPCO at the helm, which played to a 1-1 tie with Hawassa City in Yirgalem today.

Meanwhile, newly promoted Arba Minch City scored its first victory of the season with a fashionable 3-1 win over Defence Force at home.

This was welcoming news for fans of this Southern Ethiopian team, which has recorded 2 draws and 3 defeats in its previous 5 matches.

The victory helped Arba Minch to move to 13th place, where the previous occupier Ethiopian Air Force had its match against St. George abandoned due to crowd violence, the newspaper noted.
