A draw is a good result for Ethiopia. We got dominated the first game, changed coach and had little time to prepare. So considering all of what happened between the first match with Nigeria, it is a great result for us Ethiopian. For all the Nigerians crying and calling the Ethiopian team names, I understand, your team will not qualify for the African Cup along with Ethiopia. You are sad because we had a hand on your in keeping your beloved team home. Any ways, good result for Ethiopia.

It’s not bragging brothers and sisters it’s the reality on the ground that has motivated people in speaking up. The Ethiopian team is composed of local players while the Nigerians are almost all based in European major teams. We get to see the Eagles representing Africa on World Cup and other major tournaments. They have a GRAND experience. They came to Addis just to fly in play and fly out, as the Ethiopian news commentators put it that shows the psychological frame that they were in. We will go there run over them and return back in the afternoon. The Ethiopians with a new coach had 10 days to get ready while on the other hand the Eagles were warming up against the Argentineans. It is like you challenging the Ethiopians on the 10000 meter. They are all prepared for any long distance race at anytime and they will run over you. Now that is the reason for the beat up but of course there is a lot of work to be done.

    @ chuks
no one regards s.chickens as great team. By ur own admission no surprise in drawing or beating them. oh my word! how many free falls did they make both in the cup of nations and in the world cup?! the majority is simply trying to make a point u coundnt understand that s.chickens learnt basics of football in europe and squandered on European education despite all the hypocrisy and media hype. no one knows what nigerian football is like (or u show us the boys u taught at home.) Anyways the public opinion is trying to warn the hypocrites that once the country-loving Walias bring home modern education (w/o migration!) they are surely the team to beat.

we have done good. after this time on ward we will have good success. it is enough of being under and loosing all the gam in life. we shall win all the battel we are are going to face. win will be our simbol in life. good job all the team. we will back up you.

How can Nigeria beat Ethiopia 4-0 in Abuja and came to Adis and get A draw and yet you Ethiopians still think you are better shame to you and your home advantage remember it was Eleven man for each team.Ithinkita

It is acceptable result relative to the preparation made and involvement of the new coach time wise.I believe this shall give us time for evaluation of the status of our foot ball. There is no hard preesing reason obliging us to join the cup of nation with all the defects we have unless we are there by the remaining little chance.so what I propose to all stakeholders is that:

    give time to our boys
give time to the new coach
give time for participation of our few specialists in the field
give time for participation of those who have positive attitiude and potential
I tell you we shall succeed with in near feature in joining the tournament, with reliable capacity, if not in this tournament.I believe that,
we obviously have the potential but not tolerance, patiency and the above stated shortcomings,if we are then open to improvements, changes transparancy, THAT IS THAT WE ARE THERE AT THE TOP!!!
    good luck !!!

  20. Commendable, indeed! The pleasure-giving mountainous achievements of the Super Green Eagle underscores “There is nothing like change.” Evidently, with the indigenization of Nigerian teams, the pigs are flying. Factly, the importance of intellectual courage, intellectual humility and faith-to-reasons cannot be over-emphasized. More grease to your elbows! We are as happy as sand boys for your meritorious effort and never you allow the grass to growing under your feet. Love, peace, good luck and God’s protection!

Helloooooooooooooooooooo my fellow african why must we fight each other over nothing, why must we hate each other over nothing. i don’t think we will ever see european countries hating each the way we do with each other in africa. why do people hate nigerians so much and do nigerians brag so much as well. lets learn how to live in harmony.

  23. says says:

this is not enough ,ethiopia is still in hard

  24. chuks says:

The fact that you guys are celebrating 2-2 draw with Nigeria shows how far your football is in Africa. Is it a crime if u beat Nigerian team or any other big teams in Africa?.Please stop celebrating a draw game which takes you no where..I love 9ja 4 life.

  25. Eshetu says:

It’s good lesson 4eagles. What they said before match “we play foot ball not marathon…” Yes we know how to play and thanks for Keeper they shared points but,we are an Ethiopian .

  32. Abzi says:

To the Nigerian commenting here, why can’t we brag? Weren’t you guys saying you beat Argentina 4-1 so Ethiopia is not going to be a match for you? The difference between Ethiopians and Nigerians is our players represent their country with pride unlike your players who play for money. Ethiopia just drew with a team that includes players like Mikel, Yobo, Taiwo Taiwo, etc… for me that’s something to brag about.

No fight boys,we r all brothers and sisters of the African foot ball community. We want to see the best African teams in the world cup!
Thank you Saladin and great job for the Walias!

  34. Ekene from 9ja says:

    U guys should stop bragging with a draw at ur own home ground.after all,both teams played with eleven players. No team like the Eagles of Nigeria…..I LOVE 9JA {Nigeria}

  35. DEBO says:

Ethiopia is still 4th in the group standings and Nigeria is second. You can say all the stupid things you’d like to say and Nigeria will move on to the next round and you’ll be crying your lives away in Addis Ababa.

  36. Akermann says:

Ethopians are always chicks we tame n breed to chickens,we warned dem not come out n brag cuz d Super Eagles are always ready to kip dem below dem in table

  39. Getu says:

The second Nigerian goal is a mistake of our golie. Our goalkeepers are always our liabilities.

  40. farhan says:

what is a silly mistake by our goal keepers in dying time

  41. Binyam says:

Saladin’sinclusion paid off. Qualification is a more unlikely scenario than likely. We have a home game with madgascae which i think we can win but an away game with guniea which is difficult to win. Even if we win both games we end the group fixtures with 10 points while for Guinea a single win and a draw is enough out of possible 3 wins to qualify ahead of Ethiopia. The qualification chance is mathematical and not necessarily practical.

  42. Teshome Worku says:

What a missed chance was that for Ethiopia, thanks to the inexperienced goal keeper. Anyways today’s performance was the best among the recent days games we had. Good start for the new coach and viva for Saladin Seid======good luck in Europe!!!!

  43. Ziyad says:

    A Day for Salahadin seid,
Am really impressed not only by the best performance he show us, but also by the love he has for his country. The yellow card he seen is nothing than an implication of the love he has for Ethiopian football… Bravo Salahadin…really he did a great business today as our local players play below performance. Though we get below what we did, am not as such angry with the result.

  44. dagidog says:

anyways not bad but it’s very shame 4 Nigerians

  45. bamelak says:

God bless Ethiopia, keep going and make us to say that we are Ethiopians

  46. Abzi says:

Can you guys please put the reply up here like you did with saints and buna game.

I was following the live scores and we coped a goal in the 90th minute very sad but good effortt.

  47. Eazra says:

The Eagles were lucky to go away with a point… Our team should have sealed the game… They played well that Nigerians were stunned…

  48. biruk says:

2-2 is enough to prove that the so called ‘Super Eagles’ are in fact ‘super chickens’ whenever they play in addis. it is only unfortunate the the Walias couldnt bag all the three points. good luck
