Milan Inter Milan reached the final of the Italian Cup after beating Roma 2-1 on aggregate following a 1-1 draw at the San Siro Stadium here yesterday.
Cameroon striker Samuel Eto scored Inter’s goal, bringing his season tally in all competitions to 34 goals in 50 matches. Marco Borriello equalized for the visitors.
Inter will meet Palermo in the final on May 29. The southern Italian side reached the final after defeating AC Milan 4-3 on aggregate score.
Meanwhile, Inter’s long serving Argentinean captain Javier Zanetti celebrated a milestone as he played his 1,000th match as a professional.
Although Roma had better goal scoring opportunities, it was Inter who took the lead on 58 minutes as Houssine Kharja crossed and Eto’o sent a precise side-foot through Perrotta’s legs and around Doni in the Roma goal.
Roma’s equalizer came on 84 minutes from Borriello’s header but it was too little too late. But it was too little too late.
