(04/13/2008)- A must see Amharic documentary film
depicting the great achievement of Ethiopian athletes was shown
here today at Portland State University Smith Hall Auditorium.
The film is produced by Ethiopian-born Samson Negash of Seattle,
Washington.
The film depicted rarely seen
footage of marathon giants Abebe Bikila and Mamo Wolde and paid
homage to other super athletes such as Miruts Yifter, Haile Gebrselassie,
Gezahegn Abera, Derartu Tulu and Fatuma Roba.
Samson
indicated to Ethiosports.com that he will be working on a follow-up
video which will include current stars like Kenenisa Bekele,
Tirunesh Dibaba, Meseret Defar, to name a few.
Ethiosports.com believes that
the documentary is invaluable both culturally and historically
to sports fans in general but to Ethiopians in particular who
are proud of their great runners who continue to shine at the
world stage.
