Aleph Hospitality to manage GETFAM Hotel

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – GETFAM Hotel, a family owned enterprise located around Haya hulet area of the capital is to officially be managed by the Dubai-based Aleph Hospitality – an emerging Dubai-based management company. For the four-year old company, this is part of a strategy to aggressively enter the African market that is increasingly seeing frequent hotel openings but lacking international hotel standards.

“GETFAM is our first entry into the Ethiopian market. Our goal is to upgrade the Getfam Hotel services and facilities to international standards and link it with renowned hotel brand,” said Joe Abdel Massih, the new General Manager of GETFAM hotel.

GETFAM claims to be a five star hotel as per the rating given to it two years ago, with 115 rooms, a swimming pool and a conference hall; nevertheless,  the hotel still lacks the international standards of premier hotels such as the recently opened Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa.

While Aleph signed on and took over the operation of the hotel last year, the management company is set to bring in its own engineers next week and have them go through the hotel in detail and suggest how it can be improved.

Alpeh is operational in various locations in Kenya, Senegal and recently started a partnership in Liberia, along with its landmark deal with GETFAM Hotel.

GETFAM hotel is owned by Getahun Besha.
