Ethiopian Premier League: Fifth Consecutive Victory for Saint George

Mekelle – A resurgent Saint George SA scored its fifth consecutive victory in the Ethiopian Premier League with a 1-0 win over Welwalao Adigrat University here today. As a result, the Horsemen snatched the leadership position  from Ethiopian Coffee, which suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of the visiting Jimma Aba Jifar in Addis Ababa.Veteran striker Salhadine Said scored the lone goal of the match in the 65th minute after he received a through ball from his teammate Getaneh Kebede. 

Meanwhile in Addis Ababa, league leaders Ethiopian Coffee were beaten by Jimma Aba Jifar thanks to a goal by former coffee player Aschalew Girma who headed the ball in the net in the 63rd minute.

Elsewhere, Mekelle 70 Endarta traveled south to defeat Debub Police 2-1 with their goals coming from Amanuel Gebre-Michael (4′) and Yared Kebede (41′) , while Debub got a consolation goal thanks to Henock Ayele in injury time.
