Saint George (Kedus Giorgis) of Ethiopia must learn a lesson from their last match against Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia) to take home field advantage when they face a wounded AS Vita Club of the Congo in the 2017 CAF Champions League Group C match at the Addis Ababa Stadium on Sunday.

The Saints started their campaign well as they secured a scoreless draw against the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa in Cape Town. However, the team was held to a scoreless tie by Esperance de Tunis in their second group match. This was a give away match for the Ethiopian champions who were playing in front of their fans; had a one-man advantage and didn’t use the high altitude advantage to secure 3 points. The Tunisians were indeed happy to share a point.

For the Congolese side, Sunday’s match will be a do-or-die situation. They currently seat at the bottom of the group following losses to Esperance de Tunis and Mamelodi Sundows by an identical score of 3-1. The second loss was a bitter one to swallow as they were playing at home.
