CAF Champions League: St George holds Sundowns to scoreless tie

Pretoria, South Africa – St George (Kedus Giorgis),Ethiopia’s representative in this year’s Total CAF Champions League, started their maiden voyage in Group C as they held defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns to a scoreless tie here today.

Sundowns, who are nicknamed “The Brazilians” failed to live up to expectation as they dropped valuable points at home.

The Horsemen’ had to thank their Ugandan goalkeeper, Robert Odongkara. who made a number of saves in the first half.

Esperance of Tunisia lead the Group after their a 3-1 victory over AS Vita Club of the DR of Congo.

St George’s next match will be against Esperance on May 23rd in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
