St. George vs Cote d’Or match abandoned due to heavy rain

Hawassa, Ethiopia – The 2017 CAF Champions League return leg match featuring St. George of Ethiopia and Cote d’Or of the Seychelles was abandoned in the 59th minute due to heavy rain, which made the pitch difficult to play on. 

At the time of stoppage, st. George was leading 3-0 thanks to first-half goals from  Salhadin Said (7′), Aschalew Tamene (32′) and Adane Girma (36′ penalty) .

The two teams will play the remaining part of the match here tomorrow morning at 10 . 

St. George would have advanced to the next round on 5-0 aggregate score (2-0 & 3-0) had the match ended as is.

Meanwhile, Mekelakeya of Ethiopia was eliminated from CAF Confederation Cup 2-1 on aggregate score by Yong Sports Academy of Cameroon. After winning the first leg match 1-0, Mekelakeya was beaten 2-0 by the Cameroon side.
