Addis Ababa City Cup: St. George defeats Ethio-Electric 4-1
Saint George kicked off the 2009 Addis Ababa City Cup with a 4-1 victory over Ethio–Electric and newly promoted Jimma Aba Buna holding Mekelakeya to a scoreless tie in Group A matches.
Abubaker Sani opened the score for the defending Ethiopian Premier League champions in the 7th minute but Electric equalized thanks to a penalty kick converted by Addis Negash in the 28th minute.
Saint George then followed with 3 additional goals with Sani scoring his second and a brace by Ramkel Lok
The tournament will continue today with two Group B matches: Ethiopia Nigd Bank will take on Addis Ababa Kenema while Dedebit will host Adama Kenema.
