Walias arrive in Kigali for friendly match against Amavubi
A contingent of 23 players and 7 officials from Ethiopia national team arrived in Rwanda on Wednesday afternoon ahead of their scheduled Fifa international friendly game against Rwanda set for Friday at Amahoro stadium.
The team which is residing at Sports View Hotel held their training session at Kicukiro turf on Wednesday evening and they are scheduled to train at Amahoro stadium on Thursday evening.
Rwanda will host Ethiopia on Friday in a match meant to help the two nations warm up for their upcoming AFCON 2017 qualification matches.
Rwanda will host Ghana on September 5th at Amahoro Stadium while Ethiopia travels to Seychelles on the same day.
After the Ethiopia friendly, Rwanda will host the Black Stars of Ghana in the second Group H qualifier in Kigali on September 5 before facing 2017 Africa Nation’s Cup hosts Gabon on September 12 in Kigali in build-up game for the continental championship which will be held in Kigali from January 18 to February 7, 2016.
Rwanda is second in Group H with three points, level with table leaders Ghana but the Black Stars have a better goal difference having hammered hapless Mauritius 7-1 in the opening qualifier while Amavubi won 1-0 away to Mozambique.
