EFF signs deal with R & D Group to optimize Ethiopian soccer

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – The Ethiopian Football Federation (EFF) headed by its president Juneydi Basha and Rahel Boon-Dejene, Managing Director of R & D Group signed yesterday a working relationship agreement that will allow the Dutch-based company to optimize Ethiopian soccer matches.

The 2-year deal was signed at the Intercontiental Hotel here in the capital.

According to the agreement, R & D will analyze a total of 400 matches including the Ethiopia Premier League, 37 national team matches and any competitions that Ethiopian soccer players take part in.

R & D said that it will need a total budget of 105,850 euros to do the work and it plans to raise the money from sponsors.

According to information posted on its website, R & D Group has sustainable partnership with a Dutch based software company ORTEC TSS. ORTEC TSS is specialized in supplying software and knowledge on a multi-level to different sports organizations. It provides sport analysis to the technical staff on a detailed level while supplying filtered reports to the media (TV, radio, internet, newspaper etc) and coaches on a strategic level.

For the last three years ORTEC TSS and R&D have become successful in setting up a state-of-the-art football analysis centre in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The analysis centre has the capacity to analyse more than 5000 football matches a year. To this end they’re able to analyse football matches for different international football clubs and support the Ethiopian Football Federation with reports and football consultancy. During the African Cup of Nations 2013, they helped the Ethiopian Football Federation by providing a detailed and filtered analysis report to help the team become competitive.

R & D analyzes daily the performances of players in the English, Spanish, French, German, Dutch and Italian Premier League clubs. The company also provides football lovers with online football game, live statistics, fact based news and TV-formats, which are developed to be user friendly.
