Addis Ababa , July 30 , 2015- Ethiopian Airlines has announced that effective September 16, 2015, it will increase its services to Seychelles to four flights per week so as to better serve its passengers to and from the islands.

The announcement came at the same time that the Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St Ange was boarding an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Addis Ababa for a joint working visit to Israel.

With the addition of the fourth frequency, Ethiopian Airlines will now offer more convenient options so as to better serve the needs of business travellers and tourists.

Seychelles joined the Ethiopian network back in April 1, 2012 with a direct flight from Addis Ababa.

The airline from mainland Africa provided more options for passengers flying from various parts of the world to Seychelles and from Seychelles to cosmopolitan cities of living museums of natural history and cultural diversities.

“As a pan-African airline, we have always been committed to bringing the African continent closer to the rest of the world and to one of the world’s favorite tourist spot, Seychelles, the world leader in sustainable eco-tourism which attracts a number of visitors every year,”  said Meseret Tekalign, the Ethiopian Airlines manager based in Seychelles.

“We look forward to further increase operation to a daily basis with the help of the Seychelles transport minister and civil aviation authorities,” added Mr Tekalign.

Meanwhile Minister St Ange has said that the tourism industry welcomes the announcement and also the determination of Ethiopian Airlines to work with the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) to develop new niche markets.

The minister is accompanied on this working visit by Rosemarie Hoareau, STB’s director of marketing, Alan Mason of Mason’s Travel, Guillaume Albert of Creole Travel and Daniella Payet who is representing a group of small home grown hotels from Mahé, Praslin, La Digue and Cerf Island.
