Ethiopia-Lesotho match, a potential tourism revenue for Bahir Dar

Bahir Dar – The 2017 AFCON qualifier match between Ethiopia and Lesotho, which will be held here tomorrow, is expected to give the beautiful city of Bahir Dar a great exposure and an opportunity for the local shops and businesses to benefit from tourism.

The fact that the match will be shown live on Ethiopian Broaodcasting Corporation (EBC) will be added an added bonus.

Although Bahir Dar hosted two international soccer matches (African clubs competitions) recently, tomorrow’s match will mark the first time that an AFCON match will be held here.

Bahir Dar is one of the leading tourist destinations in Ethiopia, with a variety of attractions. The city is known for its wide avenues lined with palm trees and a variety of colorful flowers. In 2002 it was awarded the UNESCO Cities for Peace Prize for addressing the challenges of rapid urbanization.
