Ethiopian Premier League: St. George joins Sidama Bunna at the top

StGeorgeAddis Ababa, Ethiopia – Defending champions St. George joined Sidama Buna at the top of the Ethiopian Premier League following a 2-0 victory over Adama Kenema here today, while the latter was held to a scoreless draw by Mugher Cement in Assela.

Although the two teams now have 28 points from 14 matches, St. George has a better goal difference (+12 vs +6).

Meanwhile, struggling Hawassa Kenema collected 3 valuable away points following their 2-0 victory over Arba Minch Kenema. 

The second round of the league started in Gonder yesterday where the visiting Wolaita Dicha beat the Dashen Beer 1-0 and Mekelakeya defeated EEPCo 2-0 in Addis Ababa.

The league will continue tomorrow with Commercial Bank of ethiopia (CBE) taking on Ethiopian Coffee and the match featuring Woldia Kenema and Dedebit FC was postponed as the latter was competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
