US says committed to support Africa’s economic growth

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia –U.S. Secretary of State Penny Pritzker on Saturday reiterated commitment to supporting Africa’s integration into world economy.    

“Africa is proving economic success, good story to the world and U.S. aspires to support African economic growth,” Pritzker said at the conclusion her two-day visit to Ethiopia along with Congresswoman Karen Bass.    

Describing Ethiopia as “one of the world’s fastest growing economies”, Pritzker said that Washington is committed to helping business in Ethiopia and other African markets.    

She said that the International Trade Administration, a wing of the U.S. Department of Commerce, will double its presence in Africa.

“We open new commercial service offices in Morocco, Libya, Angola, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Mozambique and Kenya,” Pritzker said.    

“We will endeavor to find partners for American companies, work to navigate regulatory hurdles, and support the development of that will help Africa thrive,” she added.
