New Balance Indoor Grand Prix: Hagos wins 3,000m

Hagos BostonBoston, MA – Hagos Gebrhiwet of Ethiopia won the men’s 3,000m race in 7:34.13 at the New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, an IAAF Indoor Permit meeting, here today3.

Hagos finished ahead of his compatriot and London 2012 Olympic Games 5000m silver medallist Dejen Gebremeskel, who finished second in  7:34.70, while the USA’s Ryan Hill was third in 7:34.87.

It was a year ago that Hagos set a world junior 3000m record of 7:32.87 at this meeting.

Hagos will celebrate his 20th birthday in May.
