Abuja – The Nigeria Super Eagles defeated the Ethiopian Walias 2-1 in a soccer friendly match played here today.

The following is a live update posted in Premium Times by sports reporter, Aderonke Ogunleye.

FULL TIME: Nigeria 2-1 Ethiopia.

17:32 Behaylu ASSEFA is perhaps, Ethiopia’s best player in this match. He has led several unsuccessful onslaughts on the Nigerian defence. Nigeria still leading 2-0 but the game and tackling has evened as the Ethiopians push hard for a comeback.

Ifeanyi Ede, in jersey No. 20 scored Nigeria’s first goal, exactly five minutes into the match. He scored after dribbling three Ethiopian defenders.

With the exit of the likes of Godfrey Oboabona, Sunday Mba, Gabriel Reuben, Papa Idris, Juwon Oshaniwa and many others who started the battle with the national team as home based stars two years ago, Keshi has been forced to rely on new stars on the bloc and he insists they will not disappoint even as he quickly points out that the trophy should not be given to the Eagles just yet because of lack of experience.
