Degu DebebeAddis Ababa, Ethiopia – Walia Ibex players were on Thursday evening rewarded with 100,000 Birr (5000 dollars)* by the Ethiopian football federation (EFF),General assembly in recognition to their sterling work in the World cup qualifiers.

The event that took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Addis Ababa saw the players and technical bench all given the token of appreciation as the new EFF Office led by the newly elected President Juneidin promised to do more after the Nigerian game.

Skipper Degu Debebe thanked the federation but at the same time urged for more input on the team.

“We appreciate the token from EFF and hope that the players will continue to get more incentives since we have worked hard collectively and the moral will be boosted when we feel we are more recognised “Degu told supersport.com.

Ethiopia will play Nigeria on Sunday in a do or die World Cup play off at the National Stadium in Addis Ababa.
