A 68th minute goal by Ben Youssef has helped Tunisian giants Club Sportif Sfaxien beat visiting St George of Ethiopia to qualify for the knockout stage of the CAF Orange Confederation Cup.

The Group A game played at the National Sportif Stade Olympico de Menzah Stadium in Tunis, saw the hosts dominate play but fail to score early.

Youssef soon found space to score in the second half to give the hosts maximum points and send them further on top of the log with 12 points.

CS Sfaxien, who won the Confederation Cup in 2007 and 2008, beat St George 3-1 in Addis Ababa late last month.

They made it a double victory over the Ethiopians who played minus their Ugandan goalkeeper Robert Odonkara,Umed Ukuri and Adane Girma who were all suspended.

The loss means coach Kruger’s team is almost out of contention for a place in the semifinals.

Another Tunisian side Etoile du Sahel is in second place.
